Position - Computer Technician:
- Installing and configuring hardware and software;
- Troubleshoot computer related issues;
- Diagnose and repair computer faults;
- Resolve network issues;
- Interview customers with devices for repair.
Personal Reflection
At Alpha 2 Omega Computing Services, I acquired many skills as a computer technician while working with the business manager and attending computer repair seminars. In addition, a colleague introduced me to HTML and CSS and then the Joomla Content Management System. Working from 5 pm to 10 pm daily, I taught evening classes twice a week in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Access. While at Alpha 2 Omega Computing Services, I spent many hours researching through forums for repair advice and web development tips to improve my skills.
In 2007, the business owner decided to sell the business and made me an offer because of my excellent service and ability to manage the business in his absence. However, I declined the offer as I was not ready to make such an investment. Nevertheless, I continued to work for the new owner until I resigned in 2008 because I needed to be with my pregnant wife. The new owner eventually changed the business name to Computer Resource Center, and although the business is no longer operational, the website still exists at the URL https://crcdm.com/.
