Personal Reflection

My 12 years at the Dominica Seventh-Day Adventist Secondary School, now Arthur Waldron Seventh-day Adventist Academy, were like an extension of my primary job at the Portsmouth Secondary School. I worked two days per week preparing students for the regional exams and ensured that the computer lab was in top shape. In addition, I built and managed the school's Moodle website until August 2019. I resigned in 2019 when I started Monroe College as I wanted more time to focus on my studies. As the original name suggests, the school is a religion-based school of the Seventh-Day Adventist church.
I mainly worked unsupervised because the principal trusted me always to do a good job and ensure that the students in my care did well at the regional IT examination. In addition, my experience at the school taught me to be respectful of other religions. During my time at the school, I had the opportunity to impact lives that I otherwise would not have, and now I have many respectful past student acquaintances in society. It brings me joy whenever I meet past students who call out to me. Sadly, the school has lost its domain name and no longer has a website; they now rely solely on their Facebook page. I will rebuild the website on a new domain during my summer vacation in 2022 since the school's name has changed.
